The office bears no resemblance of an ‘ordinary’ office concept, it looks more like a bar concept. This, is a unique outcome of quite a ‘crazy’ initiative between the investor and architect who designed the office.
The homework given by the investor was quite crisp: “An office interior that is NOT traditional, designed in a bold and unique manner that will leave visitors deeply impressed”. This assignment, indeed, was a dream coming true for architects who have always wanted to do something out of the box, unbound by norms and standards.
Both investor and designer could take a breath of relief as the dream came true. This sense of satisfaction could be ‘measured’ by clients’ reaction when they first drop in. Guests said that it felt like walking in a bar. Even the reception counter was designated as a bar, and the receptionist worked like a bartender. Guests can ask for any kind of drink, from a glass of wine to a cup of coffee. While the main workplace of Liberty Insurance is at the E-town 2, this office is used for reception purpose, where meetings are conducted in the most relaxing and efficient manner.

In this office, all the mechanic and structural details overhead are exposed to the public. The ceiling frame runs at a 45o angle against the two main walls, in parallel with the carpet patterns on the floor. While the ceiling beams are painted bright blue, the centerpiece is painted in a darker shape, giving the impression that the space above is unlimited. Partitions between meeting areas, reception and guest lounge are hanging plates accentuated with spotlights, while chandeliers decorate the ceiling open space. Together, the hanging ceiling and the wooden floor beneath create a pattern of curves which are in deep contrast with the striped carpet and the open ceiling at the central area. The office color theme is white and grey, accentuated with a few red walls. Yellow lighting at the bar counter and other areas is designed to make the corners more attractive.

Furniture, in turn, is of a modern, state-of-the-art style, while being simple and diverse in range. Styles of furniture vary according to the functions of particular areas, to create a formal or a relaxing, soothing atmosphere. Furniture is also removable and interchangeable, making it easy for different settings to serve different purposes.
The style of this office design is a statement: “An office interior can be beautiful and convenient without being stuck to the traditional standards and norms”.
